DC&B (Year 6 cake sale)
Musical Extravaganza
It was a great evening yesterday. Well done to all of the children who took part and especially to our rock band, Blades of Chaos (!) who rounded the evening off brilliantly. I’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our music tutors, our parents association (for selling tickets and organising refreshments), to staff and parents who contributed in so many ways and especially to Miss Bowden for arranging the whole evening.
Musical Extravaganza
On Wednesday, 30th May at 6.30 our Key Stage 2 musicians will be performing to friends and family in the school hall. Tickets are £4 if you buy them in advance or £5 if you pay on the door, which includes refreshments. The tickets will be on sale in the playground before school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Last Day of Term
It is the last day of term on Friday. Please collect children from class at 1.15.Friday will also be a non-uniform day. We are having a Street Party in school, weather permitting, to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and we are asking the children to come to school on Friday wearing red, white and blue. We are not asking for any cash contribution for this non-uniform day. Hopefully we’ll have all have a good time and it will be a fun end to this term. If your child brings their own packed lunch, perhaps you could think about how you could theme it for Friday. There may also be an opportunity for some face painting on Friday. If you DO NOT want your child to have his or her face painted please let us know by Friday morning.
Money Advice Session for Parents
After the very successful maths week for the children a few weeks ago, when the children were all learning about how to manage money, we have now been able to arrange an advice session for parents. This includes budgeting advice, practical tips, information, and where to go for more help will be covered. Personal appointments will also be possible. This session will be on Thursday, 5 July 2012 at 9.15 to 10.15 am. In order for this session to go ahead, we need to guarantee to have 20 or more parents. Please sign up on the list in the office as soon as possible. See Mrs Leith for details.
Emergencies
Every now and again we remind parents about our emergency procedures. If there was an emergency incident in the local area we would take advice from the emergency services. If they told us to leave the site then our first evacuation site would be St Mark’s Church in the Old Marylebone Road. If that was not possible we would use St Mary’s church. If neither of these were possible we would follow the emergency services’ advice. If there was a problem in the local area, please DO NOTcall the school. We have only one telephone line into the school and we would need it available for our communications. In such an event we would aim to keep parents informed with our text messaging system, through our website an, now, through Twitter.
The school’s website address is www.bryanston.net and you can also follow us on Twitter by searching for SMBSschool.
